Upcoming: Virtual Visit to Chernihiv, Ukraine

Do join us on a virtual short visit to Chernihiv, Ukraine, via Zoom on Tuesday 7th May from 6.00pm to 7.30pm (the ZOOM link will be available from 5.45pm).

Daniel Trusiewicz heads up EBF Mission Partnerships. He will introduce the visit and will share how gifted local people are being used by God in seeing new gospel churches planted in many countries. https://www.ebf.org/mp

Daniel will be retiring later this year, so we will have an opportunity to thank him for our partnership in the gospel over recent years. Cesar Sotomayor will join EBF to head up Mission Partnerships.

Ilya Vysotskiy, who IBN are supporting as a Church Planter in Chernihiv since January 2023. Ilya is married to Victoria, and they have 2 boys (3 & 6). Ilya’s father, Vladimir, is a Baptist pastor. Ilya studied in Chernihiv & Kyiv Christian University, and has served as a youth leader in Chernihiv for 10 years. Chernihiv has a population of 300K. This Church Plant mission team are also involved in helping with humanitarian aid and relief to their community. The target group for this new Church Plant are young families. Chernihiv is in Northern Ukraine, 50 miles from Chernobyl. It was occupied by Russian military until 4th April 2022.

We will also be joined by Roman Vecherkowsky who is the Missions Director for the Ukrainian Baptist Union. Roman will share recent news of what God is doing in these days, despite the awful atrocities of the war. He will also give us an update on the overall situation affecting our brothers and sisters across Ukraine.

This Zoom call will be our second opportunity to “meet” Ilya. All our speakers are looking forward to meeting us and sharing with us what God is doing. Ilya will use an interpreter.

We will take time to pray at the end of the visit, for Ukraine as it continues to fight for its freedom, for a just and peaceful end to the war, and for the advancement of God’s Kingdom in the thick of the war.
