Middle East Easter 2026 Appeal

Dear friends in Baptist Churches across Ireland,

We had not intended sending out another appeal, but the crisis in the Middle East with the wars against Iran and the war between Israel and Lebanon have left us no option.

IBN have sent £4500 in immediate relief to Lebanon, and we are receiving regular updates. The Thimar Website  will give you nearly daily updates with 1000 dead, millions displaced and nearly 40% of these are innocent children. We will continue to post updates here on the IBN website.

We are grateful to European Baptist Federation for their EVERY LIFE AFFECTED APPEAL and share it with you, for your prayers and practical support.

Every Life Affected Appeal

As we approach Easter, we are reminded by the story of Gethsemane of the importance of prayer and of standing alongside those in times of great trial and personal loss.

Right now, in the Middle East, people are losing their lives, their homes, their livelihoods, and their dreams. Christians are constantly faced with the temptation to leave the region and build new lives elsewhere. Yet many choose to accept this particular cup of suffering and remain. They continue to serve their communities, regardless of faith or ethnicity, giving of themselves in the hope that their sacrifice might bring hope to others.

Today, we have the opportunity to stand with them and support their acts of compassion towards people across the Middle East who are facing profound hardship and uncertainty due to ongoing conflict.

Across the Middle East and neighbouring nations, churches and Christian communities are opening their doors to all: strangers, neighbours, and friends alike. They are offering practical support, care, and hope in the midst of trauma and displacement. Your generosity can make a meaningful and lasting difference.

This Easter appeal will support the ministry of our Middle East conventions and partner networks in adjacent nations. Funds will be distributed across a variety of countries, providing assistance to people impacted by the war without national prejudice, while prioritising those most affected by this crisis.

Through your gift, you are not only meeting urgent physical needs, but also extending compassion, restoring dignity, and bringing hope through the witness and service of local churches to those enduring trauma and uncertainty.

At this time, we are seeking support from EBF member bodies and our partners across the globe. We are also planning to launch an online appeal, inviting churches and individuals to contribute through smaller donations, knowing that every contribution can make a real difference in the lives of many.
