Listen Again: Igor Bandura

Igor Bandura was here in Northern Ireland recently with his wife Anna for Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention.

It was good to have some time together and to hear at first hand of God at work in Ukraine in these difficult days.

We were listening to Igor when President Zelensky was meeting President Trump in the White House… a memorable day and a fresh challenge for our prayers to be the for-runner for a just peace for Ukraine.

In summary the encouragements are that God is enabling our brothers and sisters in Ukraine in the saving of lives and delivering hope. This is just a taster…

You can watch and listen again below to Ivor’s message from Bangor Worldwide’s Monday Evening Celebration.

The call to preach the gospel remains unchanging and urgent.

  • NEW CHURCHES ARE BEING PLANTED AMIDST DISPLACEMENT AND DESPAIR

Eighty-six new churches planted; eight million Ukrainians displaced across Europe, with 184 new churches formed form this diaspora. In Ukraine, the seminaries cannot take the numbers applying to train for Christian service!

  • MINISTRY TO WOMEN IN THEIR DESPAIR

70,000 soldiers killed; 60,000 missing; pastors having to conduct funerals with empty caskets; 19,000 children taken away from their parents by the occupying forces.

  • REACHING WAR TRAUMATISED CHILDREN THROUGH CAMPS AMD OTHER ACTIVITIES

Here is the prayer ANDRIY (12 years old, a deeply traumatised boy, wrote to God at a camp… ”if you exist, why is there so much pain on the world? If you exist -destroy the universe, destroy humanity, fix your mistakes” He left that camp knowing he was loved by God and the Christian leaders he began to trust.

  • STANDING WITH THE PERSECUTED CHURCH IN OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

Supporting underground ministries, praying for the persecuted and advocating for their freedom. There is no freedom of religion for our brothers and sisters in the occupied part of Ukraine.

Please be encouraged and continue to pray for God to work on the ground in all the different ministries and pray that our prayers will help to be a fore-runner to enabling peace to come.

Also please continue to pray for ILYA, the church planter we support in Chernihiv. If you can please consider donating towards his monthly support. Read his most recent report on our website.
